Start a new video project

  1. Click Create a video
  2. Choose how you want to start your story:
    • Idea or Prompt
    • Voiceover Script
    • Scene-by-Scene Breakdown
  3. (Optional) Click Examples to explore ready-made ideas
  4. Click Let’s Go to continue

Using Examples

The Examples panel helps you start quickly if you’re unsure what to write or want inspiration. You can:
  • Browse curated ideas and prompts
  • Use tags (e.g. Storytelling, Promo, Tutorial) to filter examples
  • Click Use to apply an example instantly
When you use an example:
  • The idea or prompt field is auto-filled
  • The Continue button becomes active immediately
Examples are a great way to learn how effective prompts are structured and to speed up your workflow.

Create a Video from Idea or Prompt

This option is ideal when you have a rough idea or short prompt and want Videfy to help build the story, narration, and visuals.

Step 1: Choose your starting point

  1. From the Home Screen, click Create a video
  2. Select Idea or Prompt
  3. (Optional) Click Examples to open a curated library of ready-made ideas
    • Browse prompts for common use cases (storytelling, promo, demo, social, etc.)
    • Use tags to filter by category
    • Click Use to instantly apply an example
  4. Edit the text if needed
  5. Click Let’s Go

Step 2: Let’s Create Your Story

On this page, you’ll define the foundations of your video. Required fields
  • Story name – Internal name for your project
  • Start with your idea – Describe your concept or prompt
The Continue button remains inactive until the idea field is filled.

Mandatory settings

Videfy requires a visual style and video format for every video. These are automatically set by default, so you don’t need to take action to continue.
  • Visual style – A default style is already applied. You can keep it or choose a different style.
  • Video format – A default aspect ratio and layout are preselected. You can change them if needed.
These settings are always present. You either continue with the defaults or customize them — it’s not possible to proceed without them being set. Optional setup
  • Tone – Define mood (e.g. cinematic, emotional, playful)
  • Content keywords – Add context to guide AI prompt generation

Step 3: Generate Voiceover Script

  • Click Continue to generate a voiceover script
  • You can refine or regenerate the voiceover script if needed

Step 4: Scene breakdown

  • Videfy automatically breaks the script into scenes
  • You may preview the breakdown or click Skip while it generates in the background

Step 5: Generate scenes and visuals

Choose whether to:
  • Create prompts for all scenes
  • Create illustrations for all scenes
Click Let’s Go to start scene generation.

Create a Video from Voiceover Script

Use this option when you already have a written script and want Videfy to build scenes and visuals from it.

Step 1: Choose Voiceover Script

  1. Click Create a video from the Home Screen
  2. Select Voiceover Script
  3. (Optional) Click Examples to explore sample voiceover scripts
    • See how effective script is structured
    • Filter examples by use case
    • Click Use to insert a sample script
  4. Click Let’s Go

Step 2: Paste your script

  • Paste your full voiceover script into the voiceover script field
  • The Continue button activates once text is added

Step 3: Customize your video

  • Select visual style
  • Choose video format
  • Adjust tone and keywords if needed

Step 4: Scene generation

Videfy automatically:
  • Breaks script into scenes
  • Generates scene prompts
  • Creates illustrations (based on your settings)
If scene generation is running, you may see a Skip option to move ahead while generation continues.

Step 5: Finalize

  • Once generation is complete, click Let’s Go to open your project in the Storyboard.

Create a Video from Scene Flow

This option is best for advanced users who want full control over each scene from the start.

Step 1: Choose Scene Flow

  1. Click Create a video
  2. Select Scene Flow
  3. (Optional) Click Examples to explore complete scene flows
    • Browse structured scene templates
    • Use tags to filter by video type or industry
    • Click Use to load a full breakdown instantly
  4. Click Let’s Go

Step 2: Define your scenes

  • Add scenes one by one
  • Each scene includes:
    • Voiceover Script
    • Illustration
The Continue button remains inactive until required fields are filled.

Step 3: Generate visuals

Choose whether to automatically generate:
  • Scene prompts
  • Illustrations
Videfy ensures prompts are enabled if illustrations are turned on.

Step 4: Build your video

  • Click Let’s Go to generate scenes and visuals

What happens after clicking Let’s Go

After you click Let’s Go, your project opens in the Storyboard. If you selected Yes for Create Prompts for All Scenes, Videfy will create prompts for your scenes from the Storyboard. If you selected Yes for Create Illustrations for All Scenes, Videfy will create illustrations for your scenes from the Storyboard. From there, you can review each scene, edit the text, regenerate visuals, or make manual changes before moving forward. When you’re ready to continue with canvas and timeline editing, click Go to Videfy Studio.
